MEMBERSHIP

  • Do I need experience to join the makerspace?

    Our makerspace is comprised of varying experience levels and every maker is vetted for authenticity prior to approval. A complimentary safety and orientation class is required by all members.

  • Is there a waiting period?

    Yes. We factor in your experience level, plan choice, application date, and requested start date to create a fair determination of new member approvals.

  • Do you offer storage for Flex members?

    Storage options are coming soon.

  • Is the shop and tools regularly maintained?

    Yes. Our shop is maintained by professional janitors and all our machines and tools are maintained by LA’s top millwrights.

  • How do I pay for a membership?

    Residents are privately invoiced via email every month with the option to pay via ACH or debit/credit card. Flex Members pay with a debit/credit card upon scheduling a shop day.

  • Is a deposit required to join?

    Residents are required to place a refundable deposit equal to one month’s rent. Flex members are required to place a one-time, non-refundable deposit of $100.

ACADEMY

  • Do I need to take a class to join the makerspace?

    No, an Academy class is not required to join the makerspace. We accept varying levels of experience in the makerspace and require all members to pass a safety and orientation class that familiarizes them with all the tools and equipment.

  • Are you hiring teachers?

    In 2023 we’ll be hiring teachers in multiple trades.

  • Do you offer discounts for Members?

    Yes. Makerspace members are eligible for a 15% discount on all Academy courses.

  • Should I bring my own tools?

    Unless directed to, no.

  • Can I purchase a gift card?

    We just launched gift cards! Check them out here.

  • Is there a cancellation fee?

    A 10% cancelation fee will be applicable if you do not cancel 7 days prior to the class date.
